A
well traveled artist, Cristophe Ronel's painting traverse
the world. From the rich colors of North Africa, to
the subtle introspective nature of the Orient, a narration
unfolds.
Ronel has the ability to shock us into a dreamlike state.
His art is complete and intelligent, a comforting characteristic
of contemporary art today.
Christophe Ronel has a partiality above all for the
investigation of nomad cultures, wich fascinate him.
He takes them up through his own narratives and transgresses
their drawings, engraving or weavings. the influence
of the tived experience is imperative as well.
The polychromatic sumptuousness provokes his dream of
voyages.
The human beeings or animals juxtapose one another,
herd together in narratives at the limit of the obsessional.
the painter is passionately interested in the accumulation
of ceaselessly reinvented notes.
Most of the images proposed by Christophe Ronel offer
an unprecedented overall reading, wich he constantly
reactivates and in which the spectator find himself
precipitated. Simultated ressemblances, signs, overlap
and interweave to better correspond to an extaordinary
necessity.
Christophe Ronel was born in France in 1964. Today he
is a professor of plastic Arts and Art History at the
L'Ecole National Superieure des Arts appliques and metiers
d'Arts Olivier de Serres in Paris.
